Following a highly successful start of the 2018/19 season, Pablo González returns to Konzerthausorchester Berlin for three concerts on 15, 16 & 17 February. The programme opens with Strauss’ Don Quixote, the solo cello played by Gautier Capuçon, followed by Adagio from Mahler’s unfinished Symphony No 10. Closing the programme is Strauss’ tonal poem “Death and Transfiguration”, full of emotions of an artist on his deathbed recalling his youth and ideals before his soul achieves transfiguration after death. Later this season, Pablo González makes his debut with Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra where he is joined by violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian for Sibelius’ stunning Violin Concerto. The program opens with Roman Carnival Overture, Berlioz’s most popular and virtuosic piece based on themes from his opera Benvenuto Cellini, and closes with Nielsen’s 2nd Symphony “The Four Temperaments”. Pablo González is Designate Principal Conductor of Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (RTVE) and Artistic Adviser to the Orchestra and Choir from the 2019/20 season.
